According to culturemap.com, American Girl will be opening up a 16,000 square-foot store in Memorial City Mall Houston! Scheduled to open this summer, it will contain both a retail store and a restaurant. This will be the second store in Texas and the thirteenth in the United States.
American Girl, founded in 1986, creates books, dolls, clothes, toys, and accessories, many of which are based on fictional historical characters. The line has products geared towards girls from preschool age through her tween years.

Have some fun at the 75th Annual Fort Bend County Fair, from September 23 to October 2. There will be live entertainment, great food, and much more! Through the years, the Fort Bend County Fair has grown into one of the largest and most successful fairs in the State. Residents of the county eagerly anticipate visiting with friends and neighbors at some of the many activities the Fair has to offer.
Youth education has always been a primary focus in Fair activities. In more recent years, the development of a scholarship program has provided deserving 4-H, F.F.A., and F.H.A. students of Fort Bend County with scholarships to Texas colleges and universities.

The Katy Dog Park

First of all, what is a dog park?
The Houston Dog Park Association (www.houstondogpark.org) states that, “Houston Dog Parks are public parks designated and built specifically for you and your dog to socialize and exercise safely and off-leash.”
The Katy Dog Park consists of 14 acres of grass, shade trees, a paved walking trail, water fountains, benches, agility equipment, a doggie wading pool, and a dog washing area. It was opened in March 2007, and is managed by the City of Katy. Dogs of all sizes are welcome to walk off-the-leash seven days a week from dawn until dusk. Events such as HOWL-o-WEEN and PAWS in the Park Easter Egg Hunt, among others, are held yearly.
