The City Council of the City of Katy, Texas proclaimed it. All across Houston and Katy, kids aged 5-17 will be selling lemonade from their lemonade stands in order to learn about business.
Houstonian Michael Hothouse founded Lemonade Day in 2007 as a kids business education program with the theme, “Build a Stand. Spark a Dream.” With a goal of 100 cities with one million registered youths having lemonade stands by 2013, currently 31 cities across the United States and Canada participate! Founded in 1881 by Clara Barton, the American Red Cross was chartered by Congress in 1900 to provide national and international relief during disasters. It also provides relief to the military and facilitates communication between the Armed Forces and their families. The first Red Cross Month was proclaimed in 1943 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and has been so proclaimed by every president thereafter.

CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital in Katy invites the surrounding communities to participate in its sixth annual Heart of Katy Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, February 11.
Each dollar raised from the Fun Run/Walk will support Katy’s first comprehensive heart program at CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital.
The sanctioned, certified, chip-timed 5K Fun Run/Walk event will include a 5K Run, 1 Mile Kids Run, a 1 Mile Family Walk/Run, race awards and an after party with food and music.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female participants in each category, to the overall male and female 5K Run participant and to the top three boys and girl participants in the 1 Mile Kids Run.
