Costco Wholesale is scheduled to open in Spring 2014 at the corner of I-10 and Grand Parkway, as part of a 14 acre shopping center. It will create more than 200 jobs!
Costco is a membership warehouse club that sells brand-name items wholesale. Its sales exceed $64 billion. Their merchandise spans from designer apparel to fine wine and almost everything in between, including pharmacy and travel services.
Costco also carries its own label called Kirkland Signature. The goal of this label was to “Create an item of the same – or better- quality than the leading brand at a lower price.”
What makes Trader Joe ‘s so special? After all, Katy has a zillion stores that sell groceries and other supplies.
What does make Trader Joe’s unique is its merchandise, prices and quality. Many everyday items are sold under the Trader Joe’s logo, which offers their customers access to high end products at great values!
Known as Pronto Markets in 1958 and later as Trader Joe’s since 1967, employees don Hawaiian style shirts and ring a bell when they need assistance. Ten to fifteen new products are introduced each week and the same number are eliminated. The innovative 12,500 square foot store set to be located at 2643 Commercial Center Boulevard, will be a wonderful addition to the Katy area in 2014.
Ephesus Mediterranean Grill located at 510 S Mason Road attempts to transport you, at least in culinary terms, to Ephesus, Turkey. Ephesus is a historic city in Turkey known for its historic sites, particularly its huge collection of Roman ruins. This authentic family owned Turkish restaurant serves tasty, fresh, quality food typical to Turkey. Our group enjoyed the humus, the mixed grill with filet mignon and gyro, the chicken kebob, and the grilled vegetable plate. This will not be our last visit to Ephesus!
I recently visited Laura in Katy, Texas, after several long weeks of stressful work, and I suddenly realized that my hair had that nasty “is it blonde or is it really gray?” look to it! It was definitely awful! I then randomly called the Spa at Cinco Ranch located at 23050 Westheimer Parkway, and they squeezed me in for a hair cut and color! What a pleasant surprise! The location is convenient, the atmosphere is elegant, the flavored water was delicious, and best of all my cut and color were outstanding. My husband and daughter each commented that someone would not be able to tell whether my hair was color treated or if it grew out of my head that color. This was exactly what I had asked for! In addition, the cut looked just like the picture I brought with me. I will definitely return the Spa at Cinco Ranch, and try some of their other services as well.

Located at Katy Mills Mall, in the AMC Plaza, Crepetto Coffee & Crepes offers a taste of the popular Parisian delight. Made with either sweet or savory ingredients, the thin pancakes contain whole wheat batter, and all fruits and vegetables are organic. Each crepe is made to order in front of you, and they all taste delicious!
We tried the French Crepe, which included strawberries and cinnamon, and a custom one with chocolate and bananas (Carina’s request).
Each month, Creppetto’s offers new combinations along with their main menu of chocolate, nutella, dulce de leche, berries, cheese, chicken, and many other topping choices. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
