
Katy Spotlight: Ted Cruz

Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz was born in Alberta, Calgary, Canada to a Cuban-American father and an American mother.
He attended Faith West Academy in Katy, Texas and graduated from Second Baptist High School in Houston, Texas.
Ted subsequently attended Princeton University and Harvard Law School. While at Harvard, he was Primary Editor of the Harvard Law Review, an Executive Editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a Founding Editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review.
Cruz went on to be the first Hispanic to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, being William Rehnquist. He followed that by being the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas and the youngest Solicitor General in America.
