Galveston Island is one of the top locations for birding in the nation with approximately 200 species of birds. Thousands of birds fly north across the Gulf from Central and South America each spring.

Have some fun at the 75th Annual Fort Bend County Fair, from September 23 to October 2. There will be live entertainment, great food, and much more! Through the years, the Fort Bend County Fair has grown into one of the largest and most successful fairs in the State. Residents of the county eagerly anticipate visiting with friends and neighbors at some of the many activities the Fair has to offer.
Youth education has always been a primary focus in Fair activities. In more recent years, the development of a scholarship program has provided deserving 4-H, F.F.A., and F.H.A. students of Fort Bend County with scholarships to Texas colleges and universities.
