CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital in Katy invites the surrounding communities to participate in its sixth annual Heart of Katy Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, February 11.
Each dollar raised from the Fun Run/Walk will support Katy’s first comprehensive heart program at CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital.
The sanctioned, certified, chip-timed 5K Fun Run/Walk event will include a 5K Run, 1 Mile Kids Run, a 1 Mile Family Walk/Run, race awards and an after party with food and music.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female participants in each category, to the overall male and female 5K Run participant and to the top three boys and girl participants in the 1 Mile Kids Run.

Each year on February 2 since 1887, thousands of revelers climb atop Gobblers Knob in Punxsutawney, Pa., to witness the prediction of Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog with the mythical ability of forecasting either an early spring or lengthier winter. With the help of his keepers and protectors, the tuxedo-clad members of the mysterious Inner Circle, Phil shares that annual prediction with the world from the heart of the region appropriately known as the Pennsylvania Wilds.
Lovely Peckerwood Garden, located on 40 acres in Hempstead, Texas, is a conservatory for native Texas plants and rare species from northern Mexico and their Asian counterparts.
Admission will be reduced to $10 February 18-19; March 3-4; March 17-18; March 31- April 1; April 14-15; May 12-13; October 13-14; October 27-28; November 10-11, and no reservation is needed. Garden tours start at 1:00PM and 3:00PM.
They will also be holding the Peckerwood Garden Plant Sale featuring hard-to-find plants.
