If you have not discovered a Home Goods store yet, you need to! I first discovered it at 23518 Westheimer Parkway in Katy, Texas. They carry an ever changing variety of items for the home that is high quality, unique, and best of all… discounted! I have purchased items for many rooms in my house, as well as some wonderful toys for Carina. Home Goods is owned by The TJ X Companies, Inc., which includes Home Goods, T. J. Maxx, and Marshall’s. Home Goods was launched in 1992, however my introduction to it was in 2013! Better late than never!

This is a new twist in the world of fitness gyms. Located at 23222 Kingsland Blvd., Suite H, Katy, Texas 77494, (281)347-5050, the target customer is the fifty and over set.
As a member myself of that sub-group, I was very interested to learn about what they have to offer. With both an on-site physical therapist and a fitness coach, Nifty After Fifty offers, among other things, customized training, group exercise classes, a nutrition program, SCI-Fit Cardiovascular Steppers, and Keiser strength training equipment.
A great feature is that memberships are month to month and no contract is required. This program was founded by Sheldon S. Zinberg, M.D., a prominent and published expert on fitness and disease management of seniors.
On Saturday, we met some friends at the Houston Zoo for a fun morning. We had not been to the zoo for over a year, so everything was new for the three of us. Carina loved running around all of the exhibits, riding on the carousel (for the first time), and even petting a goat!
I know that as Carina gets older, she will enjoy seeing all of the animals even more. Our friends are zoo members, and that is an option that we will likely consider in the future. We were able to use my AAA card for $2 off of each admission ticket, and Carina was free. There are a lot of other ways to get a discount for admission, and even free days the first Tuesday of every month from 2 p.m. until closing. The zoo website has more info.
