This restaurant is located a little out of the way at 2150 Highway 6 South in Houston, Texas, however it may be worth the trip if you seek authentic Cuban cuisine. It is a small place located in a shopping center that serves fresh, homemade style food. We tried the ropa vieja and the vaca frita. Both were very good, as were their platanos maduros and the black beans and rice. I happen to cook Cuban food extremely well and I would say that my home cooking is superior, however, this is a close second. The menu is extensive and Rincon Criollo serves as a great alternative for those days when you need a break!
