I was recently driving past downtown Houston and noticed that we are home to some extremely tall buildings! Apparently, Houston has forty-five skyscrapers that exceed 400 feet.
The tallest of these is the JP Morgan Chase Tower, at 600 Travis Street, with 75 stories. It was built in 1982, and is 1002 feet high. It is the tallest building in Texas and the twelfth tallest building in the United States.
Standing at 992 feet, the Wells Fargo Plaza, at 1000 Louisiana Street, is the second tallest building in Texas and the thirteenth tallest building in the United States.
In addition, Houston has over 360 completed high rises.
