I love Mediterranean food, and Shish Kabob Cafe does not disappoint!
With its generous portions and casual atmosphere, my husband and I enjoy this restaurant. I ordered the yummy, garlicky Chicken Showarma Plate, and Jonathan ordered the $5.99 Gyro Wrap and a Coke Special. Everyone is extremely friendly. We were comfortable bringing Baby there – she loved the hummus! For dessert we shared several pieces of baklava, and I tried the hot saffron tea (delish!).

We go through a lot of baby bottles, nipples, and collars. Sometimes, I feel like I’m doing dishes all day just so that I can feed my child. This means that I have been through about 5 different bottle brushes in that past 8 months. My experience has been very frustrating, but I have found the answer! The OXO Tot Bottle Brush with Nipple Cleaner and Stand is different from any other that I have tried. Not only is it OXO brand, one of my kitchen favorites, but it has features that make it stand out from the rest. Most other bottle brushes that I have tried have a wire structure that bends with use and eventually breaks. This OXO version has a more solid plastic handle that allows for easy cleaning but no risk of breakage. Additionally, others that I have tried have a foam tip that has become torn and discolored, or worse, moldy! Not the OXO – it is all stiff, high quality bristles. Two other unique features that I love are the silicone nipple cleaner that easily rubs away any milk residue from nipples and the spouted stand that allows the brush to drip dry and stay clear of the kitchen sink full of dirty dishes and other contaminants. This OXO bottle brush is an all-around winner!
The last few days have been sleep deprived and filled with crying. My 8 month old has been teething and just sprouted her first two teeth! She seems happier today, but I now see what we can expect with her other eighteen teeth. Her favorite teether, by far, is her giraffe, Sophie. This toy has long legs that she sticks in her mouth, bites down on, and then pulls out with a satisfying POP! as the tiny, natural rubber hoove passes her gums and new little teeth. She also enjoys trying to place the animal’s entire head in her mouth to chew on its ears and face. It is so funny to see my baby viciously attacking this helpless little toy! However, Sophie still looks like new. With her food grade paint and sturdy construction, I don’t have to worry about any small parts coming off and choking my baby or any harsh chemicals poisoning her. What a great investment this teether has been! Buy yours today!
One other word to the wise: invest in a small supply of Baby Orajel! Yes, it is a medication, but it works wonders on a screaming child when she is in pain and hasn’t taken a nap all day. A small dab goes a long way – both for baby and for you!
It doesn’t get any better than Perry’s!
From the moment you walk into this upscale and modern, yet warm and cozy restaurant, you are greeted by hostesses that treat you like old friends trying to accommodate your every wish. Although pricey, there are some dining experiences that are worth the money and Perry’s is one of them. I ordered the filet mignon, the au gratin potatoes, and topped it off with a Mont Blanc a la Frisc flaming dessert. All were delicious as well as impressive in their presentation. We were celebrating my son in law’s birthday as well as entertaining my husband’s cousins who recently moved to Katy, Texas from Miami, Florida. All were impressed by the quality of the food, the fine service, and the elegant environment. In fact, my husband’s cousin recently flashed me her box of match sticks with the Perry’s logo on it that she took as a momento of our special evening.
