Those who know me know that I watch Carina during most days, rather than place her with a babysitter or in daycare. While I am blessed to have the ability to do so, I found myself using it as an excuse not to exercise.
After discussing the issue (i.e., complaining) with my mom, she found the perfect solution – Baby Boot Camp Katy!
Not only did I get a fantastic workout, I also connected with an amazing group of like-minded moms and dads.
The owner, Maria Gorosito, is knowledgeable and encouraging. She and the other trainers make sure that class is different each day, while suggesting modifications for each person’s ability level.
Baby Boot Camp is a one-hour interval training class that incorporates strength training, cardio, yoga, and core work.
Carina loves doing drills with me and enjoys being outside. I love that she is learning that it’s fun to be fit!
Baby Boot Camp provides an effective fitness regimen, a supportive environment, and a way to spend time with your kid(s).
Exercise modifications can be made for pregnant women, new moms, and active moms who are ready for an additional challenge.
Your first class is always FREE!
Do not forget to honor Mom this year with a gift.
Since we are both Moms, we consider ourselves experts in this field!

“Get Your Plate in Shape” is this year’s theme for National Nutrition Month!
This commemorative month was created in 1980 by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to stress “the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.” March 14, 2012 is also Registered Dietician Day.
A plate is divided into four sections: fruits, vegetables, grains and proteins, plus a separate glass for dairy. This representation is to assist individuals with visualizing how to incorporate the Dietary Guidelines for their own meals. As part of my birthday resolution (#6), I have been exercising more often and eating healthier foods.
An additional benefit of my improved lifestyle is the new outfits I’ve been shopping for!
I am more willing to work out when I feel good about my clothing.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces:
