I recently attended story hour with my grandchildren at the Beaumont Public Library Miller Branch and discovered one of the sweetest stories of all time, “Mole’s in Love.” A young mole named Morris set out in spring to find love in all the wrong places, mainly due to bad eyesight! But, after much heartbreak, love found him! Similar to Dr. Seuss’ “Oh the Places You’ll Go,” this story will be loved and passed down by young and old. Bravo to the children’s librarian at the Beaumont Public Library Miller Branch for selecting and sharing this book with the children during story hour.
This past Saturday, we attended The Real Craftwives of Katy EXPO at the Firethorne Clubhouse. We met many amazing business owners and found lots of treasures along the way!
Carina enjoyed getting her face painted and trying her first snow cone.
This picture does not do my new necklace justice. It is so sparkly, and I know that it will become a favorite go-to piece. Linda Davis
I absolutely love this mosaic bowl handmade by Joan VerSteeg. It is unique and adds an eclectic touch to my home.
Carina has been interested in adding some decorations to her room. When we saw Sarah Coin’s colorful display, we knew that we had to have this Rainbow Tassel Banner!
I had never heard of Chloe+Isabel before Saturday, but I am glad to have met Kristin Luttrell and look forward to receiving our purchase in the mail!
Carina was attracted to this bright display and has already worn her new pink-purple-red creation. Almost Famous Tyedye
On Sunday, we took it easy at home and enjoyed a walk near the lake.
The ducks are always so fun to see and play with!
I hope that you all have a great week!
This event is designed to promote small at-home businesses in the Katy area. There will be over 65 booths set up inside and outside the Firethorne Community Clubhouse. From refurbished furniture, jewelry, and clothing…to photography, local art, and cake decorating, there will be something for everyone at this fun event!
See you there!

We recently took our three year old granddaughter to pick strawberries at pick your own Blessington Farms located at 510 Chisholm Road in Simonton, Texas. We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed delicious strawberries! It was our first visit to a hydroponic farm and our first time to travel through Simonton, Texas, population 824. Simonton is only fifteen miles from Katy, just past the town of Fulshear.
In researching Simonton, I learned about an inspirational true story documentary filmed there in 2008 that demonstrates the spirit of forgiveness entitled, “The Heart of Texas.” I think that Katy and Fulshear residents should be proud to live so close to a town that is filled with wonderful people who were obviously touched by God.
