The City also discusses plans for continued drainage improvements, along with important information to be proactive, prepared and informed as we head into another hurricane season.
“We are excited to continue growing in Texas by creating an additional 1,000 full-time roles at this new fulfillment center in Katy,” said Akash Chauhan, Amazon’s vice president of North American Operations. “In fact, beyond the more than the thousands of employees who currently work for Amazon in Texas, more than 160,000 authors, sellers and developers in Texas are growing their businesses and reaching new customers on Amazon products and services.”
We are pleased to officially announce that Amazon plans to build their tenth fulfillment center in Texas in the City of Katy. Katy has recently been associated with distinguished companies such as Buc-ee’s, Pepperl+Fuchs, Transwestern, and now Amazon, a Fortune 20 firm that will bring a $160 million project along with 1,000 new jobs to our community. This project was part of the City’s strategic planning for annexation and continued financial strength. We are honored to have such a great company plant their flag in the City of Katy. http://cityofkaty.com/13994-2/
Summer break has come to an end, and school season is upon us! Carina is starting Kindergarten next week, and we have been busy getting everything ready!
I decided to buy some labels to help with keeping things organized, and chose two brands to try out. Our sweet friend also gave Carina a set of vinyl monogram labels for her birthday, so we are fully stocked!
The first set I chose are from Kidecals. This company advertises that all of their labels are waterproof, laundry safe, microwave safe, dishwasher safe, and BPA free.
Below is a photo of our “mixed set” of “blue bead” style lables. The set includes 24 classic labels (2″ round) and 48 mini labels (1″ round). You can personalize your colors and the information that you want your labels to include. http://kidecals.com/
The second set that I chose are from Name Bubbles. These are from the School Labels Pack, which allows you to choose from several different designs and includes pages of stickers for specific purposes – some are dishwasher safe and some are laundry safe. http://www.namebubbles.com/
Below is a snap of some vinyl monograms made by Simply Monogram It. I am looking forward to using these too! You can check out all the great options here: https://instagram.com/simplymonogramit/
My daughter and I both love gardening and being outside in nature. Despite the heat here in Katy, Texas, we decided to finally make a butterfly garden in our backyard.
This was a labor-intensive project, but the workout was definitely worth the result. I love looking out the window and seeing all the color instead of just dried up grass. Also, several of the plants that we have chosen are specifically meant to attract butterflies!
We bought the limestone, soil, mulch, cone flowers, black eyed susans, and a few other plants that looked nice – all at the Lowe’s on Katy Freeway. Everyone there was very helpful, and they even loaded all those stones into the truck for us. Jonathan was awarded the job of bringing it all to the backyard. (Thanks Hubby!)
We also visited Beyond Paradise Nursery for our lovely purple butterfly bushes and bright multicolor butterfly weed (milk weed). The kids enjoyed some popsicles and saying hello to the resident cats there, while we looked around.
