This event has been taking place successfully since 1988. See approximately 120 cook teams from all over the country compete for the title of having prepared the best chicken, ribs, and brisket, while raising money for underprivileged youth and their education. Vendors and a concession stand will be available.
The club is sanctioned and judged by the Texas Gulf Coast BBQ Cookers Association. The cook-off has been designated as a Texas State Championship – Senate Proclamation No. 428.
